Old Fashioned.

No not the drink (though Epicurious Academic Glatt does recommend the ones from Circa) we mean the meal! A bit of meatloaf and mashed potatoes can always make you feel warm and happy! Check out the pictures from our Old Fashioned but always "hits the spot" meal of mashed potatoes, zucchini and meatloaf. Was perfect after a long day at school!

Can you Mash Potatoe?

Meatloaf!

Zucchini!

FINAL PRODUCT!

PS. Epicurious Academic Dews Mashed Potatoes were outta this world! (and she didn't even have a masher!)

Food Fotos..

We are all for great food fotos here! So submit yours and maybe they will make it on to the blog!

These two are admittedly swiped from our close friend Docta Shoes Facebook page! Aren't they just beautiful? And definately put our fotos to shame!

Steak Tartare is Epicurious Academic Glatt's favorite thing in the world (besides Oysters that is....) and this play on color is just amazing. This steak tartare (obviously said with a French accent) happens to be from her favorite place Les Philosophes in Marais (again with a French accent).

And of course garlic! Because BOTH Epicurious Academics LOVE garlic! And its such a great picture of it!

Special thanks to you Docta Shoes!

Introducing Pimms...

Epicurious Academic Glatt's favorite drink is a Pimms Cup. Its a holdover from her year in the UK... and over this last weekend she introduced her favorite drink to Epicurious Academic Dew. It's always yummy no matter what time of year, spring fall or summer though it is definitely the best during a hot summer day and a BBQ!

Epicurious Academic Glatts Pimms Cup Recipe (makes 4 glasses):

2 Small Cucumbers
1 large Orange
10 Strawberries
4 mint sprigs (or about 3 leaves to cup)
4 cups Fizzy Lemonade Soda (or diet 7 up can be subbed for a low calorie option!)
2 1/2 cups Pimms (Pimms No. 1 Cup.... can be found at Bevmo or online)
Ice

Combine all ingredients and stir! Make sure to have spoons/and or forks at hand so that you can pick out the Pimms soaked fruit!
